It's 4 in the morning and I am up because I can't manage to get the pain under control again. I am so over this shit.
About three weeks ago, I went in to the ER for chest pains and we found out I had low potassium. Last week, my doctor couldn't see me until this week and the nurse told me to go back in. The potassium had gone up, but was still low. This week, I had a scare of red/orange urine and what I thought was kidney pain. That, turned out to just be dehydration and low potassium again.
Yesterday, I finally managed to get to see my doctor. My blood pressure was 155/104. The nurse was very concerned, but I told her the blood pressure had gone up and down a lot and it usually was when I was in a lot of pain.
After doing an exam, the doctor thinks there is something going on with my magnesium and potassium. She is testing both of those and has given me prescriptions for both as well. She should get the results back at the beginning of the week and we'll go from there.
I was in bed around 11 last night, and I was up every 30-45 minutes from the pain. This sucks so bad. It's hard to even function at times. The trouble I'm running into is trying to find a balance of not being on the strong medications, and staying on top of the bad times.
Oh, and I used to have really good veins. I think between the miscarriage last year, and getting my liver checked every month, plus all of these other random things going on, my veins have been poked to death. They can rarely get blood from my arms any more, and I've been stuck in my hand about ten times in the last three weeks alone. So annoying.
Has anyone else had issues with their potassium and magnesium? I'm over these muscle pains. So over them!

Despite my many other medical issues, magnesium and potassium have always been stable for me. I hope they find a solution for you soon. {{{Hugs}}}
I think it's time to go to a different doctor... you poor thing, you've been living at the doc... :(
