My follow up with the doctor isn't until next week and while the bleeding has stopped, I have a few other issues I was hoping to get advice on from anyone else who has had a miscarriage before.
1.) Exercise. How soon after you miscarried were you able to start working out again? I know my back is going to give me issues (unrelated to the miscarriage) but I have the instinctual urge to get my body in shape. I think I am subconsciously thinking my body did something wrong. If I was in better shape, would it have stuck around? I know it's not my fault and there is no way to know what the issues really were, but still.
2.) Headaches. Did anyone else get headaches after their miscarriage? If it weren't for these headaches, I would be off my pain meds by now. I'm currently just taking Tylenol for them, but the headaches are driving me crazy. How long should I expect this?
3.) Sleep. Every day I get home I want to sleep. I feel exhausted. I know a miscarriage is taxing on a woman's body, but I'm struggling with making it through the day without feeling like I want to crash as soon as I get home. Did anyone else have this feeling one week post-miscarriage? How long did it last?

As for excercise...I would take it easy until after your follow-up appointment with your doctor. You can probably do low impact stuff if you feel up to it, but your body has been through a lot so give yourself a break.
Headaches... Your hormones are ALL over the place right now and that is probably what is triggering most of your headaches. Between that and stress they are perfectly understandable. I got them TONS for a few weeks after my last miscarriage.
Lastly, sleep and being tired. Oh girl! ALL I wanted to do was sleep for 2 weeks. It was the only time I felt I could get "away" from it all. Not only has your body been taxed from this, you have the stress of school and "real" life, but now you are emotionally spent. I think it is the bodies way of escaping from everything. When you want to sleep, I say go for it. It is probaly the only thing that helped keep me even partially sane.
I also just wanted to tell you I'm sorry. I've been there and it sucks big time. Those were two of the worst times of my life and if I had one wish in the world it would be that no woman ever had to go through a miscarriage. ((hugs))
The headaches and exhaustion are probably due to the rampant, raging hormones. It takes a while to get them under control.
Also, it can take the bleeding quite a while to end. I would ask the doc how long you should wait to start exercising.

oh honey, i am so very sorry to hear about this.
drs say that a miscarriage can be more taxing & draining on your body than an entire pregnancy - such a whirl of things happening to your body in such a short amount of time.
i've had headaches - specifically migraines, nausea and overwhelming tiredness with most of my miscarriages, apparently all perfectly normal - your body is going through such changes, first getting used to the pregnancy and then getting over it.
sending you big hugs and remember to take it easy.
xx
