One of Nine

Going into this latest Math exam, our professor told us he's never had more than about 30% of the class pass the exam. It was our warning. He gave us a great study guide and even put his annotated notes from class online, which he NEVER does.

We would have 17 problems total of which 10 would be multiple choice and 7 would be free response. He explained to us what each problem would be and in what lesson it would be coming from. Number one would be simplifying a power of i. Number four would be multiplying complex numbers. Number nine would be a polynomial inequality. Number fifteen would be absolute value equation. And the last two would be word problems.

He prepared us the best he could have and reminded us to not forget to use our notes, book, and online videos to prepare for this exam.

And yet, he was right. Only nine of us passed. Yes, I said, us. I was one of the nine that passed. I made a B, mostly in part to forgetting a negative or positive sign, or that damn trick question that I raced through.

The class was quiet as he handed the exams back. Instead of starting the new lesson that I spent 3 hours preparing for yesterday, we went over the exam with us.

After that, he told the class he was uploading an exam online for us to get a chance to make our grades better. It was 20 questions and we would get one try and 2 hours to complete it.

Instead of being HAPPY, people bitched that he was only giving them one chance and only two hours. So, being the kick ass professor that he is, he agreed to give us two chances.

I took my first retake and only missed two questions. So, I decided to do the second retake. And I got the all right. Ohh yes. A 100% on a test grade? ME LIKEY!

Sometimes, being in a class of dumbasses really pays off. :-)
