If you've been following me on Twitter, you've noticed I am dying from my back itching. Last night, shortly after I hit publish, my back decided to go all fucking crazy on my ass. I don't recall the itching being this bad ever before. NYEBoy rubbed aloe and the lidocaine spray on my back last night, but it either made it worse or only helped for literally three seconds before I was moaning again. I was trying to focus on my breathing to see if that helped, but all it did was make me feel like I was faking a labor or something. lol
Today it's been better than last night, but it's still pretty rough. I'm getting ready to take a Zrytec to see if it helps. I ran to Publix to pick up some more lidocaine spray since I noticed the one NYEBoy was using last night expired when A was born! I also got some benedryl anti-itch cream but I don't have anyone to put it on me.
What about you, do you have any tips on stopping the itching? Thanks for the tips so far. I'm going to scream if this lasts too much longer. :-)
I was seriously second guessing my trip to the beach after a night like last night!

I don't have any suggestions, but I am looking forward to reading what others have to say! I, too, have itching sometimes (usually at night) and it goes from my head to my toes, nothing helps it! So wierd!!!
Hello from ICLW! I am so sorry you got sunburned. I don't have any remedies of my own that you haven't already tried. But what about an oatmeal bath or Aveeno? I know that usually works with chicken pox to cope with the itching. I hope you start to feel better soon.

I get an allergic reaction to sunburns (that sounds lame, I know, but it's true!) The only thing that helps is vitamin E oil - whether it calms the itching or just keeps me from touching it because it's so goopy, I'm not sure. But either way, it works! I just buy the biggest Vitamin E capsules I can find, then cut them open, and smear the oil on my skin! You'll need a lot of capsules (and help getting your back!) and then freedom to sit around topless to let it sink in, but I really do swear by it!
Try taking some benadryl. It's stronger than Zyrtec.
sounds really weird but I'm from Hawaii and this really works, white distilled vinegar. either spray or pour on your back and the itching should stop.
that definitely takes the fun of the beach out of it... hope it gets better soon! Keep it hydrated (once you can stand rubbing lotion on it!) it will help minimize the blister/pealing. I was burned like that once and lotioned up (with 'good' lotion ) several times a day, and I hardly pealed, just in the worst areas.
I have heard that soaking in vinegar helps with sunburns.....Maybe you should add some to your bathwater.
Hi Its Tracey from thefertilitydaily ICLW#118
Definately Aveeno lotion. Years ago someone told my badly burned friend to use milk of magnesia as a lotion, too. good luck.
