They have a file folder for each child by the sign-in sheet. Every day, you're supposed to check the folder to see if your child has any papers. I opened the folder the other day to find an invitation for A to a birthday party from someone she met at school. It was in that moment that I realized our* baby girl is growing up faster than we want her to. It's exciting and scary all at the same time.
This afternoon, after I pick her up, I am take her to the toy store to pick out a little gift for her friend at school. I have no idea what this child is into, so I hope I remember to ask their teacher for some advice. They are having a ballerina party. The invitation says to bring you're leotard. We don't have a leotard. The redneck in me flashed a bathing suit with tights and panties bunching out the rear.
I'm even more excited to go because this child's mother works at the preschool and I don't think they invited the whole class. It's nice to know you're raising someone half way decent and others want to hang out with them as well. Kudos to future productive citizens!
