Today or Tomorrow

My lawyer called late yesterday afternoon. He told me he hadn't finished writing everything up, but that he would call me around lunch time for me to come into the office and review everything before he filed with the courts. She should be getting served this afternoon or tomorrow.

She called me last night to tell me she might be getting fired from her job because she was late again. She's on probation for not being able to count money correctly and being late. After reading text messages about her getting high in her friends cars during their breaks, I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

As the hours click by, I'm beginning to get a little more nervous about what her response is going to be like. I know that once she's served she won't be able to run, so that's a good thing. But, that doesn't mean she can't take the baby to a friends house.

What is it going to be like when there is a knock at the door and she's downstairs and I'm upstairs? Will she freak out on me? Will she attack me? Will she run with the baby? Will she have one of her friends come by and do something stupid? Will she not do anything like it's not a big deal? Only time will tell. Until then, I'll be on pins and needles.
