I spent two hours at the lawyer's office yesterday. We had two petitions to write up, tweak, and re-write nearly half a dozen times. I'm not going to lie, as much as I want temporary custody of A for the time being, it's hard as hell seeing everything in text calling your sister an unfit mother. It's a double edged sword though, seeing it all typed up, laid it all out there. There's no hiding from it. You deny the text messages. You can't deny never taking your child to the doctor without another family member having to urge, and basically take the child for you. As she says, "it is what it is".
The lawyer requested emergency temporary custody. If that is granted, it will go in effect tomorrow. I need specific prayers for that, for now. Emergency temporary custody being granted, tomorrow! Please, dear Lord. I do believe K is a flight risk. I don't hesitate for one moment her taking A if she gets served and the ETC isn't in place.
My lawyer will call me tomorrow with an update as soon as he hears back. I will update my blog as soon as I hear from him. K will either get served tomorrow or Friday depending upon how late it is tomorrow when the lawyer hears from everything.
Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Please pray the Judge grants us the ETC. Please, oh please, oh please!

The judge ordered an emergency hearing for Monday morning at 10 am. Of course this is smack in the middle of all of us going to school for the first day Monday! Fuck an A. I'm not sure what I think about this. If it's good news, great, but if it's bad news, how the fuck am I going to manage to stay calm and focus on classes?
If I hear anything else, I'll update here.

My lawyer just called back again to verify the hearing was Monday. He also told me the judge has ordered A not be allowed to be removed from my care until at least the hearing on Monday. THANK YOU GOD! I am in tears. It's not custody, but at least when she gets served either this afternoon or tomorrow, she can't get upset and run with the baby. THANK YOU JESUS! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
If I hear anything else, I'll be updating here again.
The next big hurdle is her reaction to being served and then of course the court hearing on Monday.

My lawyer just called to tell me they tried to serve K papers, but they were told she doesn't work there anymore. Holy shit. Now I have to find her. OMG.
