Earlier this week, I found out some pretty bad news. I didn't want to blog about it on my main site because of everything going on with K and A, but I think everything is safe enough now to talk about it.
Earlier this week my college account was blocked because they did not have the results from my GED in yet. I was told until I got the test results, I would have to pay out of pocket ($4,000) for my classes or wait until session C (October) to start. I went ahead and went to student orientation Wednesday to talk to an advisor. Out of the four classes I was going to take, only two were in C session and they both started at the same day/time. So, basically I was told it was looking like I was going to not be able to start school until Jan.
I was so sick yesterday. I barely wanted to do anything but sit and cry. I've worked my ass off this summer on top of the K and A situation to get in school and because someone lied to me in May when I called, I was now being punished and looking at another 5 months of waiting. It just wasn't fair.
After I heard about this Tuesday, I called the place I took the test and asked if there was any way to rush the results (they were due back September 13th). She said there wasn't but to call her back Friday to see if they happened to come in.
Well, I missed her call this morning, so I called her at lunch time when I realized I had missed her. Guess what? They got the results. Guess what? I FUCKING PASSED!! (I knew I would, but still, it was nice to hear!) Guess what? Because I didn't answer, she put them in the mail. And this is where my good news went bad.
I went up to the school again to see if they could call them to verify and let me register for classes, but in order to do that, they wanted the $4,000 in cash for the classes and I would be reimbursed in September when the financial aid goes through. WHAT?
So, I went to the post office to see if we could catch it. The Post Master said not to worry that it should be to me tomorrow. If it's not, he wants me coming by before they close to see if it got left behind.
So, FINGERS CROSSED! As long as I can get this paper in the mail tomorrow, I can register Monday before orientation begins for another 100 new students.
I am hoping and praying this is the turn around from all of the bad luck I've been having. Next week is going to be a very interesting week to say the least. Let's just hope this isn't the only good news that comes out of next week.

Congratulations on joining the 'I Got My GED Bitches' Class of 2010!!
The feeling when you get your GED is one of the best in the world (in my opinion, lol).
