Show & Tell: Monopoly

I love playing board games. My favorite board game is probably Monopoly. I mean really, who doesn't love playing the banker? It all began when we got our first version of Monopoly, which was Monopoly Junior.

Of course coming next one we got was the original Monopoly.

Then, I got the 60th Anniversary edition for Christmas.

When they came out with the Here & Now version, I got that too.

This past Christmas I picked up Monopoly Deal, a card game version

and Monopoly Express, a quick dice game of the popular board game.

I also picked up the Seinfeld edition this past Christmas for NYEBoy since he's a huge Seinfeld fan.

I think my favorite version of my collection is the 60th Anniversary, probably because of the gold color. Although I know NYEBoy's favorite is probably this version...

It's German Monopoly. NYEBoy is half German, so when I found this I had to pick it up. It earned me massive points in the relationship department. Heh.

This about sums up my collection of Monopoly games.

What about you? What's your favorite board game? Are you as big of a Monopoly nerd as I am?

If you're as big of a nerd as I am, you can go read the history of Monopoly. I think you'll be impressed to hear why there seems to be many different ways to play.

**Updated**

I completely forgot to mention my 2nd favorite version...

Puzz 3-D style! How awesome is that? A monopoly puzzle game board!

I had no idea there were so many versions of Monopoly! We have an ancient version - probably from the 60s or 70s.

Wow. I was going to say we have all those, but then I kept scrolling and realized...we so don't! But we have lots of them and you're right, who doesn't love being banker? We have become really fond of the card game version. Great way to play the basic parts of the game when you're short on time.

Oo, oo, oo! I LOVE Monopoly! I don't have ANY Monopoly boards though. I'm going to be aquiring one here soon though... Hopefully the new electronic one where you use "credit cards". Then you don't have to worry about all the fake money getting lost (scarred from childhood).

Love your collection!

I've lived in several countries and used to buy Monolopy in each country. I wonder what happened to them? Perhaps I left them behind In Europe when I moved to Australia?

There's a DC version that has DC landmarks. I also had no idea there were so many versions of the game beyond the standard one.

I love Monopoly too (although not as much as you do. :) ). My favorite board game is Risk. I rock Risk. ;)

Oh my! You have more monopoly games than I probably have total games! We're big fans of game night, so I always like the interactive ones...apples to apples, guesstures, taboo, pictionary, etc. There's a new one out that I really want to get, but it hasn't been on amazon yet...it's called Sexy Slang (sounds raunchy, it's not!) and it's a fun men vs. women game that I think combines sharades/pictionary.

Happy ICLW!

Wow. You really like Monopoly. I like to collect Douglas Adams things...including a few games. I also like various versions of Munchkin.

I have (had, don't know where it is) the Star Wars edition. I also have the iPhone app. I'd like to get the one with the bank card...
