+ I was/am a babysitter. (The best one, hands down!)
+ I worked at a daycare for ten months, but left when they wouldn't give me a raise from $5.15.
+ I spent two school years working at a church preschool.
+ I worked from home as a daycare provider for awhile.
+ I worked as a nanny for a few years too. At one point, I was watching 6 kids under 4 and loving every moment of it. I only left because the children's grandfather (in his 40's, his daughter was close to my age) wanted to sleep with me, and I couldn't deal with the stress of his wife working there assuming I was sleeping with her husband.
+ I started my current job three years ago, working at a doctors office. I have enjoyed it way more than I ever imagined. Infact, I was offered the job a year before I began, but declined it even after the interview.
I am giving my notice Tuesday. It's a bittersweet time. A year ago, it would have been almost impossible to leave. But now, not so much. The office drama is beyond bullshit. I will dearly miss my patients and feel bad about leaving some of my co-workers though.
I plan on spending awhile working on my online business. If I notice it's not working out, I'll venture out into the working world again.
But my ultimate dream job is to be a Mom. No college degree or amount of zeros on a paycheck will give me greater satisfaction than that title.
So, what have you done? What do you do now? What's your dream job?

For the past 9 yrs, I've been lucky enough to claim the job title of Mom. During that time, I also got to claim the job title Stirrup Queen (LOL). I've worked as nanny, a group home counselor, a horse trainer, and, in college, I worked in a pottery studio.
In a former life I was a deejay. Then I started ttc, trying to pg, trying to stay pg and they stamped the title "Habitual Aborter" in my file.
Soon I hope to have the title "student".
Good wishes!
I'm in my 11th year of teaching elementary school, but I took an 8 year break between years 4 & 5. Prior to college graduation, I did the babysitting, waitressing, office, & retail stuff. In my 8-year break from teaching, I did marketing, advertising, corporate trianing consulting, sales & recruiting.
Only job title I really want is "MOM", but (like Julia) I've been slapped with the "Habitual Aborter" title instead. Someday, someday . . .
Well I would have to say that my dream job is and always has been to be a professional athlete! distance running is my favorite thing to do but unless you're the absolute best, there's really no money to be made...ahh well!
I have heard of a contest created by some new organization that offers the winner the chance to do their dream job for a day! I thought it was pretty cool so if you feel compelled, click the link below!

Since graduating college 8 years ago, I've worked with adults with developmental disabilities, been a caseworker for folks with mental illness, gone back to nursing school, and worked as an ICU nurse.
Now I stay at home with my son and am writing a sci-fi novel, and trying my hand at writing freelance.
Office bullshit/drama drives me crazy. I'd love to get out of it and just blog for a living - writing is what I live for.
I've worked in many, many places! My first job ever was serving hotdogs at a fastfood hotdog restaurant! I have also worked with a down syndrome child, been a cashier at a grocery store, worked at a day care, and now I am a middle school teacher (my 12th year). My dream job is to teach so I guess I am fulfilling that! Congratulations on posting on all blogs for ICLW! I did my 48 in one day- but 126? You go girl!
My dream job... to be a mother one day, soon. And to be an author.
Now I am a full-time wife and college student, and also a book review writer. Before I was a library aide, a coffee maker, a pizza chef, a cashier, an article writer, and a collator/printer.
Thank you for sharing your list. It is bittersweet leaving a job you've known for years and moving on. I hope your internet business works out for you.
