In honor of the first day of IComLeavWe, I have decided to let ya debate it!
With a celebrity baby boom underway, or at least what feels like one, some are saying the parents should be asshamed of themselves. With some parents fetching almost 20 million dollars, teenage moms, and other's not so much. Is it immoral? even if they donate it? Do you really think these children will resent thier parents for "selling them out"?
What do you think?

Are you talking about selling the "first pictures"? I'm not sure the kids would resent it, only because it's just going to become their everyday lives, since they are children to people who have their pictures taken all of rhe time. I'm not sure if the parents should be ashamed of themselves, because why not take the money and donate it to a good cause? I'd rather do a tasteful spread in a magazine for some charity money than have the paps stalk me to try and get a glimpse of my baby. That might be just me, though.
Hi from ICLW.
Hi - I'm stopping by b/c I noticed your comment over at Stirrup Queens about not being "wounded enough" and I just had to drop by.
I do hope you'll consider coming to the Oct conference - you ARE part of the IF community. I don't quite fit in either, since I'm not TTC anymore, but I AM still part of the community. It's wonderful to meet other women who've been through some of the same things, or at least understand the situation you're in, regardless of where you are on the journey.
Ok, this is really rambling so I'll stop now - but I hope you get the idea. :)
Here from ICLW...
I definitely don't have a problem with parents who donate the picture money to charity. Keeping the money seems more weird, since if they're famous enough to command this kind of baby money, the celebrities should have plenty of money of their own, I'd think.
I agree with Jill that it's a good way to preempt the paparazzi. Even though they'll still probably follow the celeb around all day even after the photo shoot, the premium on the "first photo" will be gone and they may not be as aggressive or intrusive.
I think Christina Aguilera actually tried to do some good in showing her baby in the Rock The Vote PSA.
There are so many other things that these children will resent their parents for down the road (some more than others), selling baby pictures seems like the least of their problems.
