Ugh. I wish I had words of wisdom. I say do what makes you most comfortable - and remember that thugboy may not always be around, but your sister will. I hope you find a way to support her without compromising your feelings about him.

Of course you're angry at this whole messy unfair situation. How else could you feel?
I don't know what I would do in your situation. Keep my distance I suppose. That's what I'm doing with my SILs.
On the other hand, by keeping your distance, you may be passing up on the opportunity to be a wonderful aunt to this baby. A nephew/niece is in no way a substitute, but that's not the point.
I hope you find some peace with the situation with time.
