Another Visit To The Dentist!

Well today was the first visit I was able to go to since December to see the dentist. Today he did another root canal, which is hopefully my last! I was fine going in. She asked if I wanted gas or go straight to the shots. I decided to try some gas first. I had to use the pediatric nose thing because my nose is so small. The doctor said he was shocked, he didn't even think he used it when he was a kid. He numbed my cheek and gave me my first shot. I can deal with that. No biggie. He started drilling and I was fine. Then he went to do the thing with the brushes into the roots, and I jumped. I hoped and prayed he hadn't seen me. I did NOT want a shot directly into the damn tooth. But he did it again to see if I felt it. Of course I did! He said he had to give me another shot, and you guessed it, INTO THE TOOTH! Like last time, I held the assistants hand. My whole body tenses and my heart races when I get the shots I have to remember to breath and that in less than an hour I will be out of there. I had to take the gas nose mask thing off because I was getting nervous about not being able to take deep breaths to calm my ass down. So thy removed it and started working again. Well, the second shot did not work. He didn't go into it enough so he gave me yet ANOTHER shot into the tooth! OMG come on dude! I only felt it for a second but OUCH! He ended up doing 3 more shots before he was finished. I was so glad to be done. But I have three more appts scheduled April-May he thinks that will knock out the major/minor work then I should be able to return to regular two times a year visits. My teeth are fine as long as I go to the dentist but I had horrible dental insurance as a Nanny so I didn't go for two years. I am a little sore now but should be fine tomorrow. Hopefully!
